How a coffee run works
Coffee360 organizes the coffee run you're already doing: the “I'm going to the cafe, who wants anything?” text. Here's the whole thing, start to finish.
1. Someone starts a run INITIATION
The coordinator — whoever's making the trip — opens Coffee360, starts a run, and gets a join link. That's the whole setup. About two minutes.
2. Everyone piles on COLLECTING
The coordinator texts the link to the crew from their own phone — Coffee360 never texts your friends. Anyone can tap the link and put in their order: no app to install, no account to create, no sign-up wall. Watching your crew's orders appear on the live list is honestly half the fun.
3. Orders lock LOCKED
When it's time to go, the coordinator locks the run so the list stops moving underneath them. Late requests become “catch the next one.”
4. The run happens ORDERED
The coordinator orders at the cafe like a normal human, reading from one tidy consolidated list. Coffee360 never places the order and never touches the cafe's systems — the coffee part stays yours.
5. The math, not the money SETTLING
Coffee360 shows exactly who owes what — item by item, person by person — based on how the coordinator set the run up:
- Pay for your own items — you owe exactly what you ordered (the default).
- Split evenly — one total, divided by everyone.
- My treat — the coordinator's got it. You owe a thank-you.
- …or the coordinator can skip payment tracking entirely — nothing owed, nothing tallied.
Then you pay each other directly — Venmo, Cash App, cash on the desk, however your crew already does it. Coffee360 never holds, moves, or takes a cut of your money. There's no wallet in this app, on purpose. The coordinator marks things settled, and that's that.
6. Done COMPLETE
The run wraps with a recap. Didn't create an account? You can still get your order details later — order lookup explains how.
(A run can also be canceled any time before it wraps — everyone's off the hook, nothing owed. And to be clear: Coffee360 never charges anyone anything for a run.)
The two things we refuse to do
We do send push notifications to people in a run who have allowed them — you're invited, last call, settling up. Exactly what we send, and how to turn it off →
(More on both from the two of us who build it.)
